Scheduling Windows 10 updates

Unlike prior versions of Windows, Windows 10 updates will automatically be installed and cannot be turned off. This can cause problems in Live Production on a TriCaster or other NewTek product running on Windows 10. To avoid a prompt for Windows updates appearing in a session, you can schedule updates for your system. 

1. Open the local group policy editor by typing gpedit.msc into the Start menu and clicking on the icon that appears. 
   
2. On the Local Group Policy Editor, navigate to Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update and double-click on "Configure Automatic Updates."
   
3. From This screen select "Enabled" and then option 4 - "Auto download and schedule the install."
   
4. Set your desired schedule so that updates do not interfere with live production and click OK or Apply.
