BRINGING IN HDMI AS A SOURCE THROUGH AN SDI CONVERTER

In the event you find that your source can only output via HDMI then you will need a converter to get it into your TriCaster. Keep the following in mind:

• What exactly is your device outputting through the HDMI?
• Is it a non-standard resolution, such as one with a 30p/24p frame rate?
• It is possible that the source device may not be outputting a stable/legal signal (non-SMPTE compliant)? If so, to resolve this you will need a frame synchronizer, some converters may have this built in. This will force the output of the converter to be SMPTE-compliant.
