Changing your Network Location Type using Group Policy Editor

Issue: You need to change the Network type from Public to Private.

Steps to configure: Press the Windows Icon on your keyboard. Type in Edit Group Policy and press enter. Navigate to Local Computer Policy > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Network List Manager Policies and double-click the Network that you'd like to change. Click on the Network Location tab and under Location Type change it either to Public or Private. We recommend Private since selecting Public may enable certain Firewall settings which could block traffic on your network.
