AGENT ONLY Issues with NDI Source Discovery and Detection

Issue: Unable to find known available NDI sources or if they are present as a source option, their video output is only a black.

Solution /Suggestions:

If you are unable to find an NDI source in your source list, this is typically a Discovery issue. If an NDI source shows no video, then this is typically a network stack issue.  Its very common for IT groups to block mDNS because it creates a lot of network traffic.

First, you'll need to open up the Command Prompt as an Admin on the Windows machine after Exiting to Windows. Main Menu > Shutdown > Admin Mode > Exit to Windows

Then you will need to type the following command in the window:

netsh winsock reset
Wait for the Command Prompt to run through the reset. Once it’s complete, you’ll see the message “Winsock reset completed successfully”.
Restart your computer and continue with the following steps.

Run the Command Prompt as Admin once the unit turns back on
Type in the following command
netsh int ip reset
Wait for the Command Prompt to run through the TCP/IP reset. Once it's complete, reboot the system.

Then open the Command Prompt as Admin again, and type in each command one at a time hitting enter and letting the process finish before moving on to the next command:

  • ipconfig /release
  • ipconfig /renew
  • ipconfig /flushdns

After that, reboot the system one last time and test to see if you continue to have issues with NDI detection.
